and systemic kind of mode of actions and hence it is considered
to very powerful larvicide. Striker acts as Antifeedant, Growth
inhibitor, Oviposition deterrent, and Repellent.

Mode of Action
STRIKER
acts as contact, stomach and systemic manner. STRIKER also exhibits
effective fumigant action due to presence of aromatic oils. STRIKER
controls larvae by its contact, systemic and stomach poison. Consequently,
it gives better control of broad spectrum of larvae. STRIKER attacks
larvae on four fronts:
1. Antifeedant.
2. Growth Regulatory
3. Ovipositor Deterrent
4. Repellent
STRIKER acts on nervous system and electron transport functions
of larvae. Female adult pests stop laying eggs immediately after
coming in contact with STRIKER. STRIKER spray repels numerous
larvae species. Certain larvae find the taste and smell unpleasant
and stop feeding.
It
also affects the nervous system of larvae and causes paralysis
to mouthparts of larvae. Thus, larvae stops eating immediately
after coming in to contact with STRIKER and subsequently dies.
Striker also acts as molting inhibitor by preventing chitin synthesis.
Thus, larvae get killed, as it could not enter in to next instar.
Striker has superior penetration properties with plant tissues
and insect cuticle because of its lipophilic nature. STRIKER is
very useful in IPM (Integrated Pest Management) and IRM (Insecticide
Resistance Management).
Target pests
All major larvae including Heliothis, Pink bollworm, Prodenia,
Spotted bollworm, Semi-lopper, Hairy caterpillar etc. affecting
major crops.
